“As an ear reconstruction specialist, I perform many of these procedures on a daily basis. I use my tissue sculpting skills to reshape the ear to create natural looking ears and correct any problems.”
Lop Ear Correction
Lop ears are when the top of the ear is folded down giving a hooded appearance to the ear.
It is due to the mismatch between the skin and the cartilage where if the skin is too tight, the cartilage folds over or does not develop fully.
I have found that the most effective way to correct a moderate to severe lop ear is to perform an ear reconstruction.

Cryptotia Correction
Cryptotia is where the top of the ear is buried under the scalp. This can make it difficult to wear glasses and can cause social embarrassment.
Over the years, I have found that the most effective way to correct cryptotia is to perform a procedure similar to a second stage ear reconstruction. In milder cases, where there is enough skin to make the groove behind the ear, I utilise a Z-Plasty technique to correct the problem.

They can be itchy and cause social embarrassment. Although they can be treated they are not curable and remain for life to some degree.

Auricular Sinus Removal
This is a blind-ending pit present from birth that forms near the root of the ear or within the rim of the ear. It can leak fluid or creamy material and clients request its removal for hygiene reasons.
The blind ending pit can be removed, preventing further problems.
An MRI Is Recommended
This is one of the few procedures where an ultrasound scan of the area or MRI scan is beneficial prior to attempting removal. This allows me to see how deep the tract is and whether it wraps around the nerve supplying movement to the face. If the tract is not too deep and does not wrap around the facial nerve then it can be removed as a wedge of tissue.
